>>>At last, 100-hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training
>>>Designed for yoga teachers, therapists, body workers and health care professionals
>>>Offered in three, 30-hour in class modules, and 10 hours of out-of-class assignment
Therapeutic yoga is a holistic practice that helps your students escape pain and live more fully. You will learn how to recognize poor posture in your students, and how to help them counter bad movement patterns with aligned asana. Not only poor physical habits but a panoply of health issues can be addressed and alleviated using yoga therapeutics. We will apply universal principles of yoga on an individual basis to serve all beings including those with specific health conditions, challenges, or injury recovery. Our practices approach the body as a whole, sattvic unit that can be happier and healthier with a greater flow of chi.
Module 1:
-Common Ailments; Spinal Health; Women’s Health
Module 2:
-Therapeutic Yoga for Aging Populations
Module 3:
-Adaptive Yoga Practices For Specific Populations & One-on-one Privates
This training is intended for teachers of yoga, body workers, physical therapists, and health professionals. Learn a clear blueprint to evaluate a student’s physical and subtle body. Then, effectively apply principles of yoga with the specific goal of promoting healing in the body. Learn to prescribe asana for specific ailments, and how to adapt the practices for each individual, regardless of injury, illness, age, or specific condition. Introduction to somatics, restorative techniques, thai yoga techniques, and hands-on healing touch.
Within each module you can expect segments on:
- functional anatomy & physiology
- asana sequencing
- articulation
- proper use of props
- therapeutic touch
- hands-on assists, and
- real life students to learn from and practice with
This training will move from subtle systems of the body to the grosser, more physical systems. Your time in this training will combine discussion, lecture, asana and breath practice, demonstration, hands-on work with other participants, and real client interaction.
Attendees observe Kelly Haas working with clients with specific physical problems or conditions, and speak to those students about what does and doesn’t help them with their pain/health issues. These sessions will conclude with a review of the principles learned and a discussion of how to apply the techniques learned to specific cases that those in the training have confronted in their own students and clients.
The goal of this instruction is to give each practitioner a range of therapeutic tools to choose from as well as a more refined, sensitive approach to determining where imbalances may lie within a given patient and how to best approach them. The alignment principles taught are based in Anusara Yoga, and also from my training in Thai yoga massage, Ayurvedic principles, and restorative yoga. Kelly Haas has developed and refined these techniques consistent education and work with private clients (since 2004).
