Bindu Patel
Bindu began her teaching journey in 2009 after completing her first 200-hour yoga teacher training, and she has been joyfully sharing the practice ever since. In 2015 she completed her 300-hour training at Prajna Yoga with her teacher, Tias Little. She then completed her Prajna 500-hour certification and became a senior teacher at Prajna.
She was later invited to lead her own Prajna Yoga 200-hour teacher training—an honor that reflects both her depth of study and her devotion to the lineage.
Keith Porteous Meade
Keith is a yoga teacher, singer, mother of three, and owner and director of Swan River Yoga. Beginning with a 300-hour Certification from the Jivamukti Yoga School in 2007, Keith has advanced yoga, dharma, and vocal training. She enjoys the intersection of movement, song, humor, and philosophy within in-person learning to foster insight and create community.
Bringing 19 years of teaching experience to the mat, Keith offers weekly practices as well as private sessions, events, and training for certified yoga teachers.
A FEW THINGS YOU MAY BE WONDERING
Space for
your questions.
Some answers to your questions to ensure this training is right for you.
What is Prajna Yoga?
Created in 2004 by Tias and Surya Little, Prajna Yoga is a profound path of yoga which can be practiced lifelong. With its emphasis on alignment, wisdom, and somatic awareness, the practice is deeper than physical yoga but also powerfully therapeutic for anyone recovering from injury.
In the Founders’ words, Prajna Yoga is a “school for yoga and the internal arts with a contemplative yet dynamic feel…Prajna is an amazing word suggesting ancient wisdom and ever present awareness—an embodied presence so badly needed in our world today.”
Studying this method as the foundation of one’s teaching is an ideal way to begin with the highest quality, well-informed, tried and true methodology you can share with future students.
Do I need to want to teach yoga?
Not at all. This training is for students who want to deepen their personal practice as well as those who wish to teach. You’ll study in a supportive, respectful environment with Bindu and Keith.
Will I be ready to teach after the training?
Yes! We will allocate significant portions of our in-person training to practice teaching with supportive feedback provided.
What is required to graduate?
Full attendance and completion of assignments are required. The program includes 180-hours of in-person training and 20-hours of assigned self-study.
Graduation is May 16, 2027.
Graduates earn 200-hour accreditation with Yoga Alliance and Prajna Yoga, with certificates signed by Tias and Surya Little, Bindu and Keith.
What if I can't attend one of the training dates?
Missing any part of training is highly discouraged, and attendance is in person. We understand that emergencies happen. Missed work must be completed independently outside training hours and coordinated with Bindu and Keith.
Are weekly yoga classes included?
Yes. During training, all classes with Keith and Bindu are free for you to attend. Frequent practice, observation and personal note-taking are highly encouraged.
Which books do I need to read?
REQUIRED READING:
The Tree of Yoga
Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
Yoga: The Path to Holistic Health
by B.K.S. Iyengar
Bhagavad Gita by Stephen Mitchell
